It's that time of year again guys and ghouls to indulge in some spooky fun! The leaves are falling, pumpkin spice lattes are back, and sweaters are coming out of their long summer's nap, everywhere! Whether you're transforming into a ghastly ghost, or a whimsical witch, this season's got an undeniable charm. I absolutely love hosting holiday parties, and Halloween is no exception. You can have the best eerie decorations, but it's the killer cocktails that really bring the party to life! Got your costume ready or still brewing up ideas? The Graveyard Smash
Delve into the dark and delicious with this eerie mix...
Ingredients
2 Oz Vodka
1 Oz Pomegranate juice
1 Oz Lime juice
1 Oz Simple syrup
Splash of Black Razzberry LaCroix or club soda
Fresh Blackberries (for garnish)
Instructions
Shake vodka, pomegranate juice, lime juice and simple syrup with ice.
Strain into highball glass filled with ice.
Top with Black Razzberry Lacroix or club soda.
Garnish with fresh blackberries.
Ghostly Gimlet
A spectral twist on the classic gin favorite
Ingredients
2 Oz Gin
1 Oz Fresh lime juice
1 Oz Elderflower liqueur
Dry ice (for effect)
Instructions
Combine gin, lime juice and elderflower liqueur in a shaker with ice.
Strain into a coup glass.
Add a piece of dry ice for a hauntingly cool cocktail. (Make sure when handling dry ice that you do not touch it with your bare hands. Use gloves or tongs. Wait about 5 minutes or until the dry ice has fully sublimated before consuming the cocktail)
Bloody Mary's Revenge
A fiery take on the beloved brunch staple
2 Oz Vodka
4 Oz Tomato juice
1/2 Oz Lemon juice
2 dashes of Worcestershire sauce
2 dashes of hot sauce (or more to taste)
Pinch o celery salt
Pinch of black pepper
2- 4 thin slices of fresh jalapenos
Celery Stick, Pickles, Olives or pepperoncini (for garnish)
Instructions
Mix all ingredients (including fresh jalapenos) in a shaker with ice.
Strain into a highball glass with ice.
Add Celery stick, Pickles, Olives and or Pepperoncini for garnish
Ghoulish Garnishes
Use Lychee fruit stuffed with blueberries for eyeballs. These can be frozen and used for ice cubes as well.
Dip the glass into some corn syrup dyed red for a bloody rim.
Hang gummy worms over the edge of a glass for a slimy surprise.
Use rosemary sprigs or cinnamon sticks as cocktail stirrers. They can also be lit on fire briefly to add aromatic and smoky elements to your drink.
As always, if your serving alcohol, make sure you have plenty of non-alcoholic options and encourage guests to drink responsibly. Consider arranging for Ubers or rideshares ahead of time.
